Red wine is said to lower LDL cholesterol. Provided you dont slug a bottle everyday.
Moreover Indian Ghee (clarified butter) actually helps to lower LDL cholesterol in the blood.
If you wish to opt for drug therapy drugs like Lovastatin, Simvastatin and Atorvastatin lower blood cholesterol levels too.
Consult your physician with regard to drug useage!

If you want to avoid drugs,
2 carrots a day,,
eat oatmeal every day,
increase your fruits and vegetables every day,
or boost your glutathione (by the foods you eat)
Hope this helps.
Good health to you.

I will speak from experience.
I had my lipids checked in March and my doctor wanted to prescribe meds to lower my cholesterol. I had heard that there were a lot of side effects with the drugs so I did not want to go that route unless absolutely necessary.
So I did some research on over the counter supplements that might help. The best data I could gather would lead me to a product called Cholestsure. I ordered a 3 month supply and took 3 to 4 capsules a day trying to never miss a day.
After 3 months I had my lipids checked again and was my doctor and I were very pleased. My LDL went from 153 to 95 (below 100 is optimum).
I am continuing to take the supplements and will have my lipids checked again in December.
I do suggest a diet high in fiber as well.
Cholestsure can be ordered online. I am providing a link to the dealer I use. They seem to have the best price and free shipping.

Diet can certainly help in a major way with lowering your cholesterol levels. Some supplements such as Niacin or vitamin B3 can also help to reduce LDL cholesterol levels too. There is an article on beneficial herbs and other ways of lowering your cholesterol levels here..
