Each individual from the age of 20 and above should undergo cholesterol test once every five years. To find out cholesterol number there is blood test known as lipoprotein test which can be performed after 9 to 12 hours of fasting. This test gives details about total cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol, HDL (good) cholesterol and triglycerides.
